I HAVE BEEN REDEEMED
The devil would like things to look as hopeless as he possibly can. He would like to fill our minds with thoughts of total despair. He would like us to become so identified with the problem that in the words of the Psalmist we--“Forget the Lord and all of His benefits…”
If Jesus Christ is not the complete answer--if He did not accomplish our redemption on Calvary--if He did not totally defeat Satan on our behalf, then we are not saved at all and our faith is vain and we are yet in our sins. But--if Jesus did conquer Satan, then we are completely free of him in every way.
Instead of being Satan’s slave, we have become his master. Instead of being weak, we have become strong. Instead of being condemned, we stand justified in the presence of God.
Is it any wonder that Paul says that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us? “If God be for us, who can be against us? He that did not spare His only begotten Son but delivered Him to death for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us everything that we need?” Doesn’t God’s Word say that He has already supplied every need of ours by Christ Jesus and according to His riches in glory?
Jesus Christ is our wisdom, our righteousness, our sanctification, our redemption, our very life. What lack I yet? The answer to that is absolutely nothing. The reason I do not lack anything is because Christ doesn’t lack anything. The fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him and He dwells in us.
It is only when we listen to the lies of the devil that we are overwhelmed with feelings of despondency and despair.
Jesus did die for us. Jesus did rise from the dead. Jesus did conquer Satan. Jesus did give us His victory. Jesus did deliver us from the bondages of Satan, sin and darkness and translate us into His kingdom of light. Jesus is the answer--we are complete in Him!
We are what He says we are! He is what He says He is! He did what He said He would do! Every thought contrary to these facts revealed in the Word of God is a bare-faced lie! But, if we don’t know the Word, we don’t know what to stand on. We won’t know just what to believe.
Hopelessness or Despair! You can’t find it in the Word of God. If it isn’t in the Word of God, then it doesn’t belong to the believer. Only what is in the Word is ours! Why should we claim that which does not belong to us? Why should we turn our backs on the Word and believe a lie? Why should we identify ourselves with that which is contrary to the Word?
Hopelessness? Despair? They absolutely do not exist in God. If they do not exist in God, then they have no place in us because we are hid with Christ in God. I am not going to claim a lie. Are you?
